I don't know if anyone has made this suggestion or not, but I think there should be a way to put music on your profile.

A while back I asked the MusicBanter administrator, Yac, if MusicBanter could add a playlist option for profiles (so it is easier to learn about each other's favorite music and actually hear it), and also include more private message storage, a proper MB chatroom, notification of friendship requests/private messages, and a color personalization option for the site. I said I felt that activating these additional functions would make MusicBanter even more user-friendly, increasing the number of people who are active members here and encouraging more page views at the site, since any function that encourages friendships to form probably increases the number of visits the site gets per day. I also told Yac how pleased people are that "gay" is no longer censored, since part of gay pride is using the word gay with pride, and so allowing people to type the word "gay" makes the community more inclusive. Yac replied right away, and I found out that the site's it team has been given the list of improvement suggestions from MusicBanter's moderators, as well as my list, and so we are just waiting to see if or when the site's it team will make changes. Yac explained that the it team is pretty swamped with work. They must have to attend to a lot of different sites?

Unluckily for you, I can type while I hold my breath. AND I have the lungs of a whale due to my incredible exercise regimen, diet, and Zen-like control of my body. I'm afraid it won't be quite that easy to get me to keel over dead. That was a good try, though.

Drat. I was hoping that the terrible sight of a long and polite letter from MusicBanter's secret "Veganapocalypse" weapon might spur the it team into action out of fear that if nothing happens I would write MORE.

An I.T. team?
Does Yac genuinely think we were ALL born yesterday? The site I was a global on had one guy who volunteered in his free time to do coding work and he gets more done in a day than Yac's "team" does in a year.

I decided to look up four topics using these sites, and was pleased with the results, which were very informative and quite accurate: hockey pucks, circumcision, veganism, and space aliens. I learned: Quote:
Actually, one big advantage I see in *not* having a lot of contact with the owners is that this site is fairly free in terms of what people can say or cannot say in their posts. Some sites don't let you discuss a whole range of topics freely. For example, at another fine music forum, I asked the administrator if I could make a post about free speech, and I was told it would probably be closed quite quickly because of people arguing! (!!!) So, although other music sites might have a few prettier amenities, I still prefer MB. And I'm not just saying that to suck up in case the owners are visiting. Really. No, really!
