The shoutbox is need of being moderated more tightly as it is and there are a few ideas in place to help with this but a 15 post limit or similar idea for privelidges relating to usage of the shoutbox is a great idea as far as im concerned. I don't see the fact that we are limiting members use of it to be a problem when it comes to the possibility of new users actually spamming to 15 posts just to gain access, i dont think the number of spammers would increase, i dont think it would create more work for the mods for this reason and so the only consequence of doing this, as far as i see it, would be that the spam would be kept exclusively to the boards where it is more visible and easier to get rid of rather than somewhere that is (currently) impossible to search and much more difficult to moderate efficiently. |
