Not a bad idea, but they'll just spam this forum until they get to 5 posts and then spam the shoutbox.. It might help but I doubt it.

The thing is I was banning the guy on sight last night.

If he needed to post in the forum as well basically I have to delete his posts AND ban him.

All it's doing is doubling the workload for the same result.

Then you went off and we were ****ed. At least when they post on the boards the mods can see it.

I just don't think the forum should be compromised for the sake of the shoutbox.
The forum itself should always take priority. Spam the shoutbox it doesn't need deleting because it's usually off the first page after a few mins. Spam the forum it's there until someone gets rid of it.

And the issue wasn't him not being visible to mods. It was the mods unable to do anything properly until Yac came on & banned his IP.

^ And that's all that needs to be said. Very rare occurrence, not worth the trouble of making th new code for it and crap. Not to mention, as others have pointed out, it would encourage spamming in the forums. No one cares about the shoutbox anyway, most of the time it's random crap and dirty talk. :nono:

What about making the shout box a privilege earned by trusted members with access activated only on request?

If that's a possible option...
