I'm a bit concerned about Batty's ban. This forum was like, his life. Without it, he might do something crazy. Like actually make something of himself.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The chances of this happening are the same chances of me getting a free ride through college.

Wait...

I've never heard you call your ex that before.

i just want to be able to http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--h4eLCX9kl...ike-symbol.png posts, so i can still maintain a forum presence without posting, because staying online all day waiting for a shoutbox mention isn't cutting it and the alphabetical rap song titles thread is dead

I was kind of wondering why you were posting so much over the past two days.

It's a nice change of pace but just strange!

I'm sure I know the answer to this but anyway, is there any way to extend the amount of characters you're allowed to have in your sig? I keep having to trim things down as we're restricted to 1000. It's pretty annoying. Probably can't be changed but if anyone knows of a way...

djchameleon 04-05-2017 06:41 AM

LOL did you look at your post compared to your sig? Your sig is so much larger and awkward looking than your actual post. I'm glad there is a limit on it.

The Batlord 04-05-2017 10:29 AM

lulz

Create a picture with a bunch of stuff/text that you want to present. Some of it won't be clickable, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Exactly.

Trollheart 03-19-2018 12:46 PM

I'm not starting a campaign here or anything, but in the light of what happened here this weekend, I'd ask the mods to just take a look at how they're policing, or not, the forum. Like almost everyone else I assume, I don't want the fun here to be curtailed, and I'm more than happy to take my share of "attacks", but as we've seen, there can be occasions where it has quite clearly gone too far.

In those circumstances, I'd just like to suggest that a quick "cool it guys" or "stop with the personal stuff" post from a mod might be a good way of a) telling the person pushing things too far that they're pushing things too far and b) letting the person on the receiving end know that someone has noticed that things are getting out of hand and is doing something about it.

I'm certainly not asking for bans or anything, and I don't expect every conversation or thread to be monitored with draconian rigidity - nobody wants that - but I'm sure more than one mod will admit he or she has seen things escalate and thought "hell with it; they can sort it out between themselves", and just looked the other way. Nine out of ten times, yes, this works, but for the tenth, when it looks like things are getting too heavy, a small but firm intervention would I believe help in most cases.

Of course, when it's a mod who's guilty of doing the pushing, well then, that's another matter, but one for that person him or herself to realise they've stepped over a line. Hopefully, with just a tiny little bit of extra care and vigilance, we can keep this place the free and happy one it has been.

OccultHawk 03-19-2018 01:02 PM

With your meltdown I don’t think the mods had reason enough to intervene.

You were upset but the **** that upset you was fair game.

People’s art is open for criticism as a general rule. No one’s art has taken more heat than Frown’s music.

You were hurt that I kept ****ting on your writing and I’m off that now but I don’t think it would be a matter for the mods unless I started using your sister or your pets as punchlines but I didn’t go there.

My opinion jobs and marriages and sexual failings should be fair game but children, dying parents and dead pets are too much.

Actually I think it would be fun to keep that **** on the table but I’m deranged.

Trollheart 03-19-2018 01:10 PM

I agree with all of this. I'm not saying they necessarily should have stepped in for me. I'm just asking them to be alive to the possibility that someone might be taking too much offence at what's being said, and to step in if that happens. That's all. Just for the future.

Look, all I want is a protective glass bubble, round-the-clock security and to be treated differently than others. I mean, in the end, isn't that what we all want?

DwnWthVwls 03-24-2018 05:28 AM

I tbink we have a goodmod team now and ive seen all of them except maybe Bricks intervene in threads to tell people to knock it off. I think the biggest problem is that aside feom Frown they are not as active as many of us.

Cuthbert 03-24-2018 10:01 AM

Let the older inactive mods go.

Appoint new ones.

Suggested it before and it didn't go down well. But it's probably overdue.

This is kind of the problem, though. I've really only seen Frown intervene when it's a conversation he's involved in. I've yet to see him drop into a thread he's not taking part in and say "cool it guys." I've seen Jansz and Exo do this, and to my mind, while I don't of course know what goes on behind the scenes with spam an' all, both of them are better examples of what I'd want from a mod than him. Frown always gives me the impression he's not really that bothered about being a mod, unless it serves his purpose at the time. That may be unfair, I don't know - and obviously, given our history, I'm somewhat biased against him - but I'm not the only one to see this, surely? I feel mods should be, when making decisions at least, impartial, and Frown never is. Most often, the only one who gets threatened with a ban from him is Chula. Ain't that odd?

That's just because I'm involved in virtually every thread. Quit taking my time here personally.

Rolleyes indeed because that's not true.

I do think some pruning is in order but I think we're set otherwise. Where do you guys think we're lacking?

Cuthbert 03-24-2018 11:00 AM

The mod team obviously needs a shake up.

Been about three years. There are like 4 or 5 that visibly do a good job, could do with a couple more.

This is just my opinion though.

Why? More mods = more banhammers

You might be one of the first to go if you get some liberal fascist vaginafeces pc sjw without a sense of humor

If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

You cool with letting a member crack jokes about my wife's pussy?

Frownland 03-24-2018 11:58 AM

1. Jokes about Chula Vista's wife's genitalia aren't deleted.

Anything else?

That’s good because there’s a lot of funny material up in there.

That wasn't a statute, I'm compiling a list of grievances.

So, anything else? I'm not here to debate this tbh, I honestly would like to know what everyone really thinks we need additional mods for or where they think changes should be made.

This is why you're hard to take seriously.. You are literally the biggest offender of personal attacks. Instead of PMing a mod or politely explaining your grievances to others you immediately go the the throat and then cry foul play. Stop pretending your innocent. Shoulda stopped at "Why?".

Maybe. I don't think I've missed a banning in my time, at least not of somehone who didn't spam ads or self-promotion. I don't know... maybe that's just a sign things aren't so bad?

More warnings would probably be a good thing, though. Maybe.
