ARCADE. And It'd be nice if people could go and see threads of bands they've never heard before, especially if you see that the thread has ZERO posts.

Huh?

People complain about it all the time, but it's not going to get any better. I have about five threads with only 0-3 replies about more underground bands. Bleh.

Well to be fair, most people aren't all going to say 'man this sounds really interesting rah rah rah', but if they've heard of it then they can make a comment they feel is 'worthy'.

Which is really why the compilations can help a **** load... No one mentioned Truart after I reviewed the album until they heard it on the comp.

Yea... You really gotta force feed some people...

Ok, I have a legitimate improvement...

How about taking off the 10,000 character limit on posts?
I'm in the middle of a massive production thread and I've hit the cap.

I don't see anyone else using more than 10,000 characters... It certainly isn't spam, what with the norm being blatantly apparent. And most people are certainly too lazy to type 10,000 meaningful characters anyway, so it's not taking up any kind of space.

Why a cap?
What gives?

I've used it... Urban's used it...

Just break it into two posts?

Yea that's what I was thinking I'd have to do. But multiple posts is the same as not having a character limit. Take the limit off, you lose nothing, and we don't have to double post.

Guybrush 04-26-2009 11:40 PM

Actually, I agree about the post limit. It would certainly help with the album review index which is filling up fast. If not removed, maybe it could be upped to 15 000 or so.

Comus 04-27-2009 10:21 AM

I know I'll have to do my 1001 albums list over a few posts if this isn't changed as well, maybe up it to 20 or 30k.
