Admin have informed me that MusicBanter generates it's income via Google Ads and that google has it's own swear filter.
Consequently, google ignores content containing swear words, which apparently would be bad for MusicBanter due to advertising.

The swear filter stays.

I guess you could say the swearing filter is the secret to our success...

..it'd be true to say that lack of a swear filter would appear to do the site more harm than good.

Fucking pity.

Can we at least set it up so that it only censors swearwords that are swearwords unto themselves? I highly doubt googles algorithm is going to censor content with the word dic kinson in it. or other such words and names.

Just an idea:

I think that to be able to post in the songwriting/lyrics/poetry section of the board, one must have acquired 50 posts first... because it seems lately that a lot of people who've been posting on there lately are

1) people with 1 or less posts, maybe 5 or 6
2) are very, very bad.

And it really pisses me off.

Yes, this is a serious quarell.

^ Not a bad idea that, especially considering the culprits spare no effort to contribute anywhere else when this is anything but a poetry board. It's annoying, but on the other hand not really that big a problem.
