I'm generally opposed, but since yes with standards is winning I would hope only mods would be allowed to make them and the artists would have some common denominator..

Yes that idea is good, but not reliable. Think of the quality of many of the passer by posters. Its a flame war bound to happen. And more arguments when some are closed, and some are not.

But doesn't that go for all threads...

Threads that have VS in the title are asking for it.

Thats just what i think will happen, go ahead and say yes to them, no disrespect i just know how they end up...same as every other forum.

I think they should be allowed but with standards. Finding a poll that says "A vs B, discuss" is a little tiring. Finding one that says "Pepsi vs Elephant" is even worse. They should be required to have some common ground laid out in the starting post and an explanation for the comparison. If you aren't willing to provide some backing to your poll, you shouldn't be posting it.

Ninja Vs. Pirates.
Robots Vs. Dinosaurs.

I'm just sick of all these bull**** vs. threads and none of them state why a band sucks or rocks and it just leads to stupid arguments.

Hence the standards...
