And the lounge is ridiculous. I try to stay out of it as much as possible.

I like 'The Lounge'.
I think it plays an important part for MusicBanter.
With it the members can get to know the personalities behind the posters in the music section and provides a place for them to blow off about stuff.

Without it the 'Music Lyrics - Music Chat' sections would probably suffer more because of it.

Yes I know it's a music forum, foremost (before someone points it out), but a Lounge area is essential IMO.

Why don't you include rock & metal in your statistics?

Because in statistics, you want to selectively use data to prove a point, instead of all the data. I could just as easily used rock/metal and not included some of the others, and still the same point would have been made. People can come up with statistics to prove anything. 15% of people know that.

for the first few months i didn't post as offten in the lounge. I was more of -Rock-Metal poster.. and a bit everywhere else.. but now for some reason i find myself post more and more in the lounge. Sometimes there's just more happening there.

I agree with alejo, the lounge is ridiculous. Personally, I think MB could do without it.

^It's not like the lounge is going anywhere. Look at any music forum if it has a general discussion section there are usually way more posts there. I dont think it matters. I hardly post there except when I find something interesting. The lounge is a way to keep randomness and off topic out of the music forums.

STFU. This place will end up with an entire community, not communicating with each other...like London. :yikes:

Without the lounge to kill time, everyone would be sitting around waiting for someone to think of an interesting music topic to discuss.

It's a gap filler.

Nay, the music posts in the other forums are mere potholes in the highway of the lounge. I wouldn't mind the lounge if they just allowed you to have it out with people there. Might save the actual music threads.
