Talking Depeche Mode- Playing the Angel (2005)

Playing the Angel. Over a decade after Depeche Mode's "golden age." The album before? Pure garbage.

Because of this, the album, Playing the Angel, blew away all expectations when it arrived. Maybe it was their new producer, maybe it was the fact that Dave started helping to write songs, but something definitely changed in their music. Every damn song on the album is good. And every song on the album is dark. This is the perfect Depeche Mode. Even the B-sides were fantastic!! My personal favorite track is "The Darkest Star," a longer song that is full of great lyrics, tune and production, along with Depeche's usual dark theme.

This is my favorite album to ever be released. I never get tired of listening to it after years and years of doing so. God DAMN, if you haven't listened to this album, LISTEN TO IT! lol. This would be 100 if not for the one meh b-side, "Better Days." 99/100.
