Prince - The New Golden Age: Live at Coachella 2008
Sabotage Records (Germany), unofficial release. 2-CD set.
He plays all of his classic concert numbers here and features special guests The Time and Sheila E. Highlights include the "Santana Medley" as well as the cover of "Creep," but there is a better version of "Creep" on YouTube than on the album. One reason I really wanted this album was the inclusion of "Anotherloverholenyohead - Rock Lobster (Instrumental)." I was expecting this to be similar to what he played at the 2007 Super Bowl press conference, which was an incredible performance of that suite. Unfortunately, it wasn't nearly as good here as it was before. For the Prince fan who has everything, this is a rare addition to any collection. I have to be honest, though-- while the album was super cool and exciting to get, it was a disappointment overall. The sound quality was bad, and the videos on the CD-ROM were from people's phones. It was worth the $35 I paid, but this isn't for serious listening. The album is worth getting if you're really into Prince, otherwise no. **/4 Tracklist 1-1 Introduction 1-2 Turn Me Loose The Time 1-3 Intro 1-4 The Bird 1-5 Jungle Love Sheila E 1-6 The Glamorous Life Prince & The New Power Generation 1-7 Santana Medley 1-8 1999 1-9 I Feel For You 1-10 Controversy (Including Housequake) 1-11 Little Red Corvette 1-12 Musicology 1-13 Prince And The Band 1-14 Cream 1-15 U Got The Look 1-16 Shhh 1-17 Anotherloverholenyohead - Rock Lobster (Instrumental) 1-18 Creep 2-1 Angel 2-2 7 2-3 Come Together 2-4 Audience 2-5 Purple Rain 2-6 Let's Go Crazy CD-ROM Video 2-7 The Bird / Jungle Love / Santana Medley / Controversy (Including Housequake) / Little Red Corvette / Prince And The Band / Creep / Angel / 7 / Come Together / Coachella Various Clips [I] / Coachella Various Clips [II] |

The heart thing is really cool. Id go for the show just for that. Luckily theyre a majestic band and worth more than that. Great review Jonathan and thanks for the "Live and Let Die" vid.
