Probably my fav Tame Impala record. They got a lot of slack for cutting out the guitar sound but I think this album was the perfect progression.

It is like just in between being a progression and being a sellout album. In my opinion. The singles off this album are better than Elephant from Lonerism. But Lonerism was a great album in entire (and I think intentionally built that way) whereas there are clearly songs songs on Currents that are meant to stand back and let the singles look even better which, when talking about albums as aesthetic objects and not merely as commodities, lacks a certain respectability. The Less I know the Better is a remarkable riff though. And Let It Happen is as great an album opener as any. The production is slick, but not in a way that waters down the sound but just to accompany a new musical direction.

Maybe 'sellout' is a bit harsh. I've been listening to his music back when it was on Myspace. It's certainly a lot different now. Back then it was extremely unique. I think he reached a beautiful balance between approachable and originality on the song 'Mind Mischief.'

Yeah, probably my favorite as well. I just love some of the bass lines. As a bass player, of course. I remember seeing 'em open up (a few years ago before Currents dropped)-open up for the Flaming Lips...who they quite frankly blew out of the water. Yeah, great band. I hope they keep churning and burning!

My least favorite of their/his 3 albums, but still pretty good. Not as much into the techno-pop stuff as the psych rock/pop of his 2 previous albums, but was still worth the price.
Last song is by far the best on the album.

So far this is the only song from this album I've heard in a store.
