Top 5: Best Albums Of 2015
If you didn't read the WORST OF, here you go: http://www.musicbanter.com/album-rev...ms-2015-a.html
HONORABLE MENTIONS Roger Water's The Wall (ROGER WATERS) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvl0MDXH96M Perfectamudo (BILLY GIBBONS AND THE BFG'S) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDYCPum1eoE 25 (ADELE) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQHsXMglC9A It's good, but I prefer these next albums better. 5. The Magic Whip (BLUR) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VtS9_0d8Xa4 I am not a Blur fan but this album was spectacular. It was fun at times, and at other points a little more serious in tone. Listen for yourself, its great! 4. Strangers To Ourselves (MODEST MOUSE) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW5Or7bIVJk If you know me, you know I love myself some Modest Mouse. My problem was a lot of the songs were more pop-oriented, but they were not bad songs. I enjoyed as much as any of the other MM records. 3. Rattle That Lock (DAVID GILMOUR) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PwQrEbEnrM I thought this album was going to be a bore, but it turned out to be a solid album, with some of my favorite Pink Floyd solo career songs on it! I highly suggest it! 2. Sound And Color (ALABAMA SHAKES) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nin-fiNz50M LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH! This was almost album of the year until another album grabbed my attention... "Don't Wanna Fight" might be a hit of 2015 for me. The album is amazing and diverse in sound! 1. Drones (MUSE) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqLRqzTp6Rk This album made my jaw drop. I have never heard an album that has filled me with so much energy and raw power. "Psycho" is now one of my favorite Muse songs, and this album might be my new favorite Muse album. (The original was Black Holes And Revalations.) If you want to hear an almost heavy metal sound from amazing musicians, this is your album. 10/10. What was your favorite albums? Keep in mind I haven't heard stuff like "To Pimp A Butterfly" and stuff like that because I am more of a rocker. |
I'm not trying to be a d*ck, but all those albums were notoriously bad and on a lot of worst albums of the year lists. I'm just surprised is all. Actually, I liked Sound and Color, so 4 out of 5.

Agree, from this top 5 Drones the best.
|
Drones made me want to stab pencils in my ears. Sorry.

Lol first thing I thought of when I saw his post...
This list almost feels like satire. The majority of those albums were considered not very good amongst most critics with the exception of the alabama shakes record. But hey drones is nominated for a grammy so what the **** do I know. Now back to more Bowie... :( |

I was just kidding. I hate the grammys because they really don't mean anything. I wouldn't say the album is terrible. I liked two songs off of it. Therefore it is only really bad.

I've definitely heard worse. In fact, I know an album that tops any other qualifying album in terms of just truly being bad. Funny thing is I used to be in the band too. One of the most stressful experiences of my life. Thankfully, I'm not on any recordings. |
???
What album if I may ask? |

I really liked The Magic Whip as well, but it seems to be a very polarizing album.
|
I don't know. I thought Drones was pretty mediocre. "Dead Inside" and "Psycho" were decent but the rest of the album are bad ballads.
|
I thought Vince Staples - Summertime 06 was def the best of 2015
|
hello - ADELE is best in 2015
|
I can only hear Drones and Sound & Color, the rest are bad. Just try listening to To Pimp a Butterfly and Compton :)

I would have to check to make certain, but I think the only album I bought in 2015 that was actually released in 2015 was "Hand. Cannot. Erase." by Steven Wilson. I bought a shitload of music last year, but most of it was older, some much older.
I heard "Rattle That Lock"" and it was probably my biggest disappointment of the year, especially after the unexpected joy of "The Endless River". RTL is not actually bad, just rather ordinary. As for "Head Full of Dreams", it's not exactly a disappointment because I have learned not to expect to be blown away by a new Coldplay release. I thought Viva la Vida etc. was a brilliant album. Every album since then seems to have been trying unsuccessfully to recapture that magic. |
