The riffs are awful compared to their previous albums.

And please let us not forget that "Sad but True"'s riff is a second-rate self-rip off of "Harvester of Sorrow".

I think kill em all was what introduced me to them when I was 9 (and later seeing them on an episode of Saturday night live), but my entire summer of 2000 consisted of listening to the black album and S&M, and trying to force other kids to listen to Metallica as well. So although it was more polished and commercially acceptable than their older work, I enjoyed it just as much, and could still probably sit down and have a listen even though it's been years...

Their first album is all that you need. Kill Em All is amazing.

It's alright, though the riffs are sorely lacking compared to their next three albums.

Bitch you crazy. "Four Horsemen", "No Remorse", "Jump in the Fire", and "Seek and Destroy" all have killer riffs.

Their next three albums have way better ones.

I can vouch for that, seek and destroy is kind of hard to play...

Kill 'Em is the weakest of the first four, but that doesnt really say much seeing how great they all are
