Pet Sounds has the better musicianship and production in my opinion. I don't think it has as many memorable individual songs, but the style itself is something I appreciate more and it flows better as a full album experience. I don't think The Beatles ever really got to that level of creating that experience until Sgt. Peppers, which is leaps and bounds better than Revolver.

sorry, but you cant compare the two albums, they are musically and lyrically worlds apart.
both are studio enhanced with recording techniques that inspired ALL other artists that followed. you cannot even compare Beatles albums alongside eachother after 1965 as they are all different. if I was going to be honest I wouldn't rate Revolver in a list of my favourite five Beatles albums. |
