Trapt - Reborn
I'm not sure why but this album is extremely underrated. It was released independently by the band due to dropping their record label because of the fact of not having complete creative control and also budget problems. I think the record label didn't give them much money in order to advertise themselves properly. Anyway, enough gossip. This is probably one of my favorite albums from Trapt. The runner up being "Someone in Control".
Reborn (Trapt album) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There is a regular version of this album and also a Deluxe Edition. The regular edition includes Bring It, Love Hate Relationship, Experience, Living In The Eye Of The Storm, Livewire (Light Me Up), Strength in Numbers, Get Out of Your Own Way, Going Under, Too Close, When It Rains, and You're No Angel. The Deluxe Edition includes Bring It (Acoustic), Love Hate Relationship (Acoustic), Experience (Acoustic), Living In The Eye Of The Storm (Acoustic), Too Close (Acoustic) and Avelyn (Acoustic). And also all of the songs on the basic CD. Bring It was the single on the album which has a similar sound to a lot of the older music. It has a hardcore riff and really well executed vocals. The lyrics for me aren't very well done but I was able to look past that because summed up? This one is pretty bad ass. Not for people who like extremely deep lyrics and cannot look past weak ones. Love Hate Relationship is extremely relatable for a lot of people and also has a pretty hardcore riff. The lyrics in this one aren't nearly as weak as Bring It but the instruments also aren't as hardcore. This wasn't one of my favorites from the album except I was really into it shortly before the album released. Experience is probably one of, if not, my favorite. It's not too hardcore of rock but it's nice that at least one track, for me, is easy on the ears. It's got great lyrics - my favorite including "An angel to my left, the devil to my right. It's time that I made a choice. But I can only do what I know feels right." -- Basically this one feels like nostalgia. Living In The Eye Of The Storm is also amongst my favorites. Like Experience, this one isn't too hardcore of rock but it has well executed vocals and probably some of the best and realist lyrics on the album. The third verse lacks a little bit in lyrics, however, because it's just "Did you get everything you wanted?" three times but in my personal opinion, that didn't make this song crap whatsoever. It really stood out for me on the album and like Experience, feels extremely like nostalgia. Livewire (Light Me Up) is pretty hardcore rock with decent lyrics that I was able to look past just simply because this song rocks. Intensely. There's no resistance. I let you in. is definitely my favorite line from this song. This one was also released, interestingly, prior to this album but just not a studio version. Chris performed it a couple of times during live shows but it was nice hearing it for once in a studio version. The vocals on this are also pretty amazing. Strength in Numbers is one of my least favorites on the album. In my opinion, it feels way too group-oriented as if they created an anthem. Haha. Maybe it's just me. I guess this song does have some strong points, though, like the instruments aren't bad. The lyrics are pretty weak but once I was past that, I didn't totally hate this one. Get Out Of Your Own Way is another one of my favorites from the album. The third verse is a little bit simple but the lyrics otherwise are pretty well written without being completely in-depth. Although just as a small detail, I think I only liked this song especially because Trapt is my favorite band. Without that tainting my opinion though, this one sounds slightly amateurishly recorded. Other than that, the vocals are very well executed and I think the drums played out well here, too. Going Under has simple lyrics but in my opinion, this song has the best vocals on the album. Not because of range or anything but simply because of the tone. Apart from that, a pretty good rock song but not too hardcore in comparison to the likes of Bring It. Too Close has fought to be my favorite. This song has really interesting beats in the background and I could tell that they experimented with sound with this one. Chris previously recorded a different version of this that was more like a demo for a "Rap" genre friend of his named Russel W. Howard. But recorded professionally and with the lyrics fully written this song is amazing. When It Rains is my least favorite on the album so I understand why it was the next to last track. There's only nothing much special about this song but the lyrics aren't entirely weak. Apart from that, it's very boring and was most likely when the band got tired and just made this one quick. That sounds really bad and I know it IS just my opinion but it's weak in comparison to the others on this album. You're No Angel is the same opinion as When It Rains but with weaker lyrics. The Five Acoustic Tracks are incredibly well done, though I had a feeling sometimes that they just had the backtrack removed from the originals. However, I listened to them a couple more times and I don't think that's the truth but it was my first impression. Apart from that, great vocals and I'm a sucker for acoustics sometimes anyway. So it was a win/win for me. The lyrics are the same as the regular tracks of these acoustics. Avelyn was previously released, like Livewire (Light Me Up), because Chris performed it many times in their live shows but this was the studio recording release. It's extremely relatable and also has incredible lyrics. This one sounds acoustic regularly, if I'm being honest so it's a nice and slow rock song. The end. I haven't made reviews before so it was incredibly sucky but it is just my opinions on this album and I'm aware that my taste in music, lyrics, vocals, and instruments are my own. Just posted this here because I love this album so damn much. Plus, I've already given myself a pat on the back because my cat was crawling all over my keyboard while I was trying to make this and I finished it so yay. Also, sorry for all of the "I"'s because I didn't know how else to write it out. Yup, that's it. AIC is done. |

The more you write reviews, the more you will get used to it and find different ways of doing it. Grats on being able to complete the review with your kitty trying to add his/her opinions into the review as well.
One thing though, This is your favorite Trapt album but you only really like about 5 tracks out of the 11? Someone in Control ranks pretty high for me then the self titled album and No Apologies. Only through the pain is the only album that I just couldn't relate to. They usually release albums that actually relate to the issues that I'm going through with my life at the time and "Only..." is the one that didn't cut it for me.

I like all the tracks apart from You're No Angel, just with some not being a complete favorite. Also, I said that it was one of my favorites. And yeah, Only Through The Pain wasn't one of their best but they don't necessarily have a terrible album. |

Embarrassing. Almost too embarrassing to reply to but nonetheless.
Ha. I kid. I used to only know Headstrong and then, fortunately, I fell in love with them. Is it the heavy rock feeling you like from Headstrong? If so, Bring It is even better but with the same level of heavy that tickles your fancy. |
