Lamb of God - Resolution (2012)
Resolution by Lamb of God (2012) Sick album. Chris Adler is his normal bad-ass self on the kit and does mind-blowing things, Morton and Adler are sensational and brilliant on guitars and Randy Blythe's voice is as great as it's ever been. When I first heard LoG when they were Burn the Priest, I thought the band was wicked but though Randy's voice was a little raw and undeveloped. By the time As Palaces Burn came out, he was much better and more polished. He has worked with some great metal voice coaches and producers that have really helped him. Now he is one of my favorite singers. On a 1-10 I give this a 8.5, maybe a 9. The band is smooth and cohesive as always, like a well-oiled machine who plays in perfect synchronization and absolutely jam and kill it on this latest album. Lamb of God is without question my favorite metal band. Has been since As Palces Burn and Ashes of the Wake came out. One of the most innovative, unique, tight and beyond bad-ass band out there. 1. Straight for the Sun - 2:28 2. Desolation - 3:54 3. Ghost Walking - 4:30 4. Guilty - 3:24 5. The Undertow - 4:46 6. The Number Six - 5:21 7. Barbarosa - 1:35 8. Invictus - 4:12 9. Cheated - 2:35 10. Insurrection - 4:51 11. Terminally Unique - 4:21 12. To the End - 3:49 13. Visitation - 3:59 14. King Me - 6:36 Total length: 56:21 |

 Yeah, I did love this album. A lot of cool things on it. I would rank it up there with Ashes of the Wake, As Palaces Burn and Sacrament. |

Gah. One of these days I'll get the energy up to listen to newer Lamb of God. Love their Burn the Priest album, and New American Gospel is brilliant. Easily their best album. I really liked Palaces and Ashes, but have become sort of bored with their whole groove metal side, and Sacrament just bored me to tears. They totally jumped the shark and became one of the most uninteresting bands in mainstream metal with that album, and I haven't had the desire to listen to any of their more recent albums since.

I like Sacrament, cause they tried a little more melody, even experimented a bit with post-metal. For me "Wrath" was they're last hoorah, some great stuff, but it really loses steam by the end. Thus far, the couple of track I've heard are not compelling me to get this. Also what's up with the cheap little card sleeve they're selling the cd in? It looks like a wimpy little pop album, ha ha ha. At least deliver it in a freaking digi-pak.

Although I really tried to get into Lamb Of God, it just didn't happen for me. The music didn't have any impact on me and I really struggled with the vocals, which is surprising considering other bands I listen to.
