heard "De-Loused"

not bad

it's a tad more "focussed" than Frances The Mute

still for epics, i'd take "L'Via L'Viaquez" over "Cicatrix ESP" anyday

Got over this band rather quickly. Thought they were good for a while, than lost interest in them.

Not terrible, but extremely over praised. As well as one of the most uninteresting live bands I have ever seen.

Really? I thought they were great live. Very energetic, very lively. I, for one, love The Mars Volta. Each album is more progressive than their last, and that's what I like about them

I sadly have lost a lot of interest in them as well. Haven't even given this one a full proper listen yet. Just never have been in the mood. Some of the songs sounded pretty good in the context of their discography though.

I saw em supporting Deloused and supporting Frances... both shows, it sounded alright, but i wasnt blow away. didn't find em all that great. When I saw em open for SOAD (yeah, i used to like them), they opened with Hella opening for them, and I thought Hella blew em out of the water. Thought they should get main supporting.

I actually enjoy Octahedron as well. De-Loused was my favorite TMV album for a long time, but upon a few listens Octahedron became my favorite.
