Pissed Jeans - King of Jeans
it should come as no surprise that this 2009 album is a subpop release... it harkens back to the heyday in the mid-to-late 80s of early grunge/punk. the opening track sounds like bleach-era nirvana covering some pixies b-sides.
soundweave has this as their top release of last year, and while it wouldn't crack my top ten, it certainly is a fine album... if you like aggro-grunge. suggested listening for fans of the jesus lizard |

This is a significant improvement compared with another album. I was not impressed, as is the case with the hope of men and others. Some of the tracks are great, but generally has been uneven. King of Jeans is better on all fronts: production, songwriting, lyrics, everything. Indie rock mean-spirited, loud, muddy, funny, and loud as if it were used to make back in the day. Large flower for years emanated from the grunge explosion before one of the best albums of 2009.
