Thumbs down the jackhammer rip-off thread

in other words, pm me an album and i'll review it here. why would you care what i think about whatever album you decide to send me? i don't know. but i don't mind listening. i reserve the right to be overly critical or dismissive of anything i don't understand. i guess that's it.

Silvester Anfang - Kosmies Slachtafual

So there's two songs here, one called "My father was a wolf and my mother a whore," and the other one is "Confiture for the Satan Youth" except both in Dutch, of course. Basically it's free-form jam music in the vein of Sunburned Hand of the Man mixed with Halloween music. Not much drive, somewhat sloppy musicianship and redundancy keep it from succeeding much even as far as pointless dark music goes. Maybe if they'd done it in the 60's...

Ludus – The Visit/The Seduction

This music makes me uncomfortable in my own skin. I'll have to listen to it until it's assimilated. It strikes me as that kind of record.

Snowman - The Horse, The Rat, and the Swan

Somehow simultaneous sinister and snotty as fuck, when they pick up they really rock and sound like a dreamed of long-forgotten post-punk band, and when they wind down they delve into creepy Current 93 style ambient folk. Noisy, dark, pissed off, etc. Very good.
