Default The Piano by Micheal Nyman

It is a strong film that captures ones imagination with not only a good tale to tell but also the added bonus of a good soundtrack. For me the film from 1993 The Piano is not just good but great but then add the soundtrack and I have that rare event, seamless entertainment that I can watch and listen to time after time. In short the film The Piano should have won an Oscar and in any other year would have but was up against a strong field that included Schindler's List! Be that as it may after all these years I can still play the wonderful soundtrack with piano by Michael Nyman with the Munich Philharmonic from his own score. In short I generally prefer my Classical music minimalist and for me this beautiful album excels in this field. The recurring theme is bewitching. It runs through the vast majority of the soundtrack beginning with The Heart Asks For Pleasure

There are 19 pieces in total with the final Dreams Of A Journey taking the theme to a slow orchestral height that finish's this masterpiece.
