Definitely a monumental album. A great way for the Fab 4 to exit the world's stage as The Beatles. They knew it was going to be their last combined effort and actually jammed and recorded much of the album together, which they were not doing the past few years. Eclectic and full of contrast. Timeless...

Enjoyable enough to listen to once or twice a year. I much prefer the disjointedness of the White Album and the jangly guitars of Rubber Soul/Revolver. Any of you check out Coroner's version of "I Want You"? It would make Lennon proud.

Abbey Road is a great album though it's not my favorite of their work. Rubber Soul, Revolver and the White Album top it to me.

That would be: no!

Also remember-- this was way before Pro Tools and automation! The mix itself used to be an 'performance art' in and of itself...with as many hands on the faders as possible just like Dark Side Of The Moon.

Yeah, apparently Because was overdubbed like 7 times.

Exactly.

And there are no virtual tracks to work with...tracks had to be combined/bussed down to open up room for other track overdubs.

The absence of automation thus proves the timeless musicality of The Beatles.
