Pure Reason Revolution-The Dark Third

I was looking through an old issue of Classic Rock about Prog Rock and I found a piece about PRP last week so I downloaded their debut album and I was shocked how I had missed it.Two words f*cking genius. One year late, but it is my album of 2006.
I was wondering how you liked it if you listened to it..?
anw it's really hard to find and it took me forever to find it on the internet to download it but believe me it was worth it.

I highly recommend Cautionary Tales For The brave too. I think they are a great band but the genre they excel in is not the most popular at the moment, so they will never get the attention they deserve.

I was hooked on The Dark Third for quite a while when it came out, and when I go back to it now it hasn't worn out on me at all. Really beautifully crafted vocal melodies, soothing ambience but also incredible dramatic effect when needed - 4:16 on Voices In Winter / In the Realms of the Divine blew me away when I first heard it.

I like this album a lot (and they're kinda from Reading!) but I feel more variation between tracks would have improved it. Definitely a band to keep an eye on. ^.^

I have the album but haven't gotten around to listening yet.

Will make it a priority now.

It's got a nice *sound* but the music is utterly unforgettable and homogenous.

I saw them at V (urgh, I went for a day to see Radiohead) festival a few years back and they were excellent. Never managed to actually listen to any of their studio work but I really should at some point.
