Why is it that some people get so worked up if you criticize a band like the Chilis. I mean seriously, boo boo, you're talking as if I'm personally insulting you or something.

On the topic of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' more funk-orientated songs, it occurred to me the other day that a good deal of these songs may be more aptly passed off as being rooted in/influenced by hardcore punk, a la Beastie Boys. A number of the songs are also passable as old-school hiphop.

Songs like Right On Time particularly make me think of the hardcore.
