So lately I've been gettin my Doomtree on. It all started with this album:

Dessa - Badly Broken Code

Dessa is a member of the Doomtree collective, and put out this solo album in January 2010. Someone here started a thread on her and I decided to check out the album. Didn't really take to it at first, but here lately I've been in a bit of a hip-hop mood and gave it another go. I just didn't realize the first time I listened to this album how impressive it is lyrically. And I love how she goes from spoken word to singing so effortlessly.

Taking to this album so well led to checking out some Doomtree albums. This one is their first studio album:
