Dessa is a member of the Doomtree collective, and put out this solo album in January 2010. Someone here started a thread on her and I decided to check out the album. Didn't really take to it at first, but here lately I've been in a bit of a hip-hop mood and gave it another go. I just didn't realize the first time I listened to this album how impressive it is lyrically. And I love how she goes from spoken word to singing so effortlessly.
