I used to read a lot of Stephen King when I was in elementary school (his short stories, pet cemetary, Needful things, Carrie, Christine, Cujo and more). Somehow, I find the stories more disturbing now than I did then.
When his novel
Desperation came out, I of course got my hands on it, and I thought it was a really brilliant King book back then. It has a wonderfully spooky story which could fit nicely into Lovecraft's Cthulhu universe with very few modifications. Although it's been quite a few years now since I read it, those who like King and who haven't checked it out should consider this a recommendation!
