Microsoft and HP both have their Canadian headquarters just west of Toronto. I'm pretty sure that both companies have internship programs. Two major telecommunications companies here, Bell Canada and Rogers, also hire people with an IT/computer education. However, the biggest problem with them is their excessive outsourcing of tech support departments. There's also lots of smaller software companies (I can't think of any at the moment) that like to hire university and college graduates. That's about all I can tell you as I'm not familiar with the field
