I have very little knowledge on Tom's background but I'm beginning to think that this man must have done a lot of soul searching, experimenting, traveling and talking to strangers throughout his life! Although these are works of fiction (or are they?

), they do reveal a LOT about his train of thoughts.
Only read two books, but recurring elements seems to be: Drugs, altered state, perception of reality, Science, voodoo/shamanism, ALWAYS some sort of reference to eastern religions/philosophy, sneaky comments on christianity (lol), literature/history (of all forms...American, English as well as other languages) and of course, the central theme is built upon some sort of
paradox or the other!
Love his 'all over the place' kind of approach -
Eclectic is the word I think I'm looking for. And his knowledge about the human brain might put many psychologist to shame!
