to RVCA:

Editors - An end has a start

IMHO still their best album so far. The first one was good, but a bit patchy. The new one is a brave attempt at breaking out from the Joy Division comparison (by channelling Depeche Mode!), but it left me mostly cold, so I can't really recommend it. This however, is pretty wonderful. Perfect music for rainy days, or for when you wish it was a rainy day.

to Unchained Ballad:

The Divine Comedy - Fin de siecle

Irish chamber pop. No, seriously...a masterpiece of witty, beautiful, cheery and melancholic classic English pop music.

to Alfred:

Cop Shoot Cop - Release

Think the intensity of Big Black, but with a sound that really bass heavy (when they started out, they had two bass and no guitars), a singer whose voice sounds like Leonard Cohen's after an all night fight in a sandpaper factory, and some of the best lyrics ever.
