Yeah, well her writing style is what really got to me. When I read Atlas Shrugged, I actually agreed with her politics to a certain extent (I was going through a teenage-angst phase, not thinking clearly, etc.), but her writing style completely put me off. I see Atlas Shrugged as the product of an author attempting to write a political piece via literature. As a result her characters are dry and the whole thing is extremely melodramatic, not to mention it rambles for 1000+ pages. It basically suffers from the same flaws that come with political propaganda and state censorship. Fountainhead is definitely a better literary work, but still nothing particularly amazing in my opinion. In addition her ideology is pretty horrendous.
