Why should that matter?
My GF wasn't really musically interested when we first got together, but since then, I've had quite a bit of influence on her. Now she sings along to much of the embarassing 70s rock I listen to. Her favourite american artist is Frank Zappa. So, instead of it being a bad thing, you could think of it as a clean slate or a blank canvas, ready for your influence to help fill it with interestingness.
