Thank you both for responding. Do either of you know how the whole selection process for the short list goes? Does everyone one who was nominated make the list? Or is the top three or something? Or only people with a certain number of nominations?
One of the things that really confuses me is the comment in the OP that even if your nomination doesn't make the short list you can still participate fully. Does this mean that you can still do a write-in of whoever you want in the voting round? That's certainly how I'd prefer to do it but it seems like it would make this first step in the process pretty redundant.
