My favorite album album by Stereolab is Mars Audiac Quintet. I have a sentimental attachment to the album because it became a gateway for me to appreciate the larger underground electronic music scene happening in the UK in the early 90s. I have a different recommendation for you because Stereolab has produced large and varied body of work since Mars was released in 1994.



There is an excellent retrospective collection of Stereolab's body of work over the past 20 years: Serene Velocity: A Stereolab Anthology. Serene Velocity is an excellent starting point for somebody that's new to their music. The collection also has the song Ping Pong on it which the one you like. Below is a link to the album at Amazon:
