Country music today has become much too poppy for my tastes. I understand people like it and I respect that. Now, that being said there is plenty of good musicians still out there.

I'm a huge fan of the early musicians in the genre though. Also guys like Townes and such. Hank Williams is my all time favorite musician and Townes is right up there, too. Anyway, I like it so much because its just so personal. I also grew up listening to country music, and I think that's a lot of what sparked my fascination with it. Usually its not complex music, but I don't see that as a problem at all. I love hearing emotion and passion in music and with country music I feel plenty of that. Its a lot like the Blues in that respect. I love the blues, too.
