This book is actually a collection of his journal entries from his later years - the last entry is about a year before his death, and it's really sad to read, really. I do enjoy his poetry and fiction, actually prefer it, but this was an interesting read nonetheless.

A lot of people make Bukowski out to be a complete ******* and a monster, but he was really just human and coping with things in his own way. When reading his stuff, that shines through.

**** haters, Bukowski rules. "so you want to be a writer" is one of the best poems ever written & Ham on Rye is ****ing hilarious

I'm reading

I'm not sure whether I like it or not, I must, because I keep reading it with interest. It just seems rather boring but still has a lot of good **** in it. Ah well
