The first feline portrait you posted could be more or less right, but that was a long time ago. I think Garfield would be a better illustration now. However, despite the neurosis (not like that of a Woody Allen's role, though) and the general low mood, the "creature" keeps a little sense of (written) humour and a certain capacity for sarcasm and witty (written) comments. It's like
this another song says:
"Bons vivants without a life,

I don't know why, but that's the way it is.
