Zaireeka is, to me, a novelty that I will probably only listen to once in my life if that. I guess it just put the notion in my head that the albums before it would be just as ridiculous.

It's actually a pretty good album in similar style to
Soft Bulletin. You'd probably like it if you like that album, and there are mixed down versions of it out there on the internet if you don't feel like dealing with the whole four disc thing.
What I would describe as their early stuff is their first few albums. Those are noisier and more rock-ish.
