Reissues of the red (1962-1966) and blue (1967-1970) albums are coming out next week. Is anyone else picking them up? Are there any key songs that you feel were unfortunately omitted from these?
I grew up on the red album so I'm using that as an excuse to pick them up. It seems a bit tedious I suppose since it still feels like their their full studio albums got reissued recently (a year ago). But if I were talking to someone just getting into the band, I'd tell that person to pick both of these up over One for sure.
Definitely should have included I Saw Her Standing There, Rain, Tomorrow Never Knows, Taxman...overall, too much Rubber Soul in red, not enough Revolver. I don't really have a problem with blue's track listing...except maybe the inclusion of Helter Skelter and Dear Prudence.
