In a lot of cases it's not the band removing stuff but the record company / management.
I know of one guy who was in a post punk band in the early 80s. He put up a download of one of their albums that had been out of print for over 20 years.
The guy who owned the current rights to the album sent him a cease & desist letter.
So if the guy who wrote & performed those songs is not even allowed to put his own work up on his own website, what chance the rest of us?
