I guess my take on GaGa amounts to a couple of points. I think that she is hard not to like, because she throws everything but the kitchen sink into her act, so someone will always be able to find something to enjoy in every one of her offerings.
On another level, she's giving people what they want, and shamelessly so. That might turn a few people off, but really, you have to consider what the turnoff is. It's not revulsion with GaGa herself. It's the realization that this presentation is what our culture amounts to. I agree she is one of the best singers we have, and a flamboyant performer, too. At the same time, I find myself hoping, more often than not, that we'll be able to do better in the future.
