i effing love Bungle,
that band is awesome. however they're directly responsible for Korn, and indirectly responsible for Slipknot - and those are two of the better examples of their popular influence.
the worse thing about Bungle's influence is that it seems to have inspired a bunch of relatively talented kids into ditching their creativity so they could be mimics instead. rather than recognizing the greatness of Bungle's ability to weave a myriad of genres fluidly into one piece and finding their own scraps of mainstream styles that could be folded into a new dress, they play circus funk. great. and your vocalist creates lyrics using Penthouse magazine and a thesaurus... fabulous.
