Yes. And I've thought the same thing while listening to songs in Spanish, Portuguese or Italian. But at least, in this case, Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys) has mentioned Daho as one of his main influences. By the way: apart from the central meaning, don't you think there is a subtle (and funny) allusion to this matter in
