But seriously, why WOULD someone have more than 2 children? Because they LIKE to have a large family? Is that a reasonable and valid, non-selfish reason, given that there are 6.5 billion people on the planet and not enough resources to go around as it is to allow everyone to live with a typical Western standard of living, even if people wanted to ensure equal purchasing power around the globe?

I was editing my last post while you were commenting, so here is part of it that you may have missed, CunningStunt: "Reasons (that having more than 2 kids in developed countries is selfish): they are choosing to do something that consumes more than their share of the world's resources, is not a choice all people could make without causing endless (and impossible) population growth, and contributes to more environmental damage than is fair."
