My dads Italian too! I was born in the town on Santa Margherita Ligure, in Liguria. Lived there for 6 years but then moved to NZ because my Mums from here.
You should go, its lovely. During the summer go by the coast, and in the winter head for somewhere like Milan. Its absolutely beautiful
