Though I prefer Various Artists comps to discover new artists, I have to say, realising that it's a single band comp, I was a bit disappointed. Plus the Smashing Pumpkins weren't one of those new bands that you discover in some rare compilation, which lessened my enthusiasm ... but I have to say, I needed this kind of push, to get myself to listen to The Smashing Pumpkins after months of owning their whole discography.
Maybe it's not the perfect place to start with SP, but these tracks turned out to my liking. Seems like I had a very wrong idea of them, I'm glad this comp set me straight. I don't have much to say about these B-sides and unreleased tracks, as I haven't listened to much of their officially released Studio albums to write some decent comparison. All I know for now, I'll be giving their albums some repeated spins very soon.
