I joined only listening to Trance, Hardstyle, and Black Metal. Now I enjoy so many types it's hard to keep track. And yes it's definitely unusual. I think it's classified as Noise/Industrial. There are genres that are just pure weird like Power Electronics (Whitehouse, Grunt, etc.)
