It is quite boring I agree. Us & Them, Any Colour You Like and The Great Gig In The Sky are phenomenal tracks but even the band admit that this was the beginning of the end for them. In terms of critical praise they released the 'perfect' album and worked on it so much but the band lost their creativity with it. Money is boring as hell and the album is far too polished and lacks spontaneity, the only album to change this pattern was Animals and regardless of it being my favourite album, it has a freedom and energy sadly lacking from a band that thrived on impulse in previous years.
I much prefer Obscured by Clouds from '72 that was recorded in just a couple of weeks. Far more organic to listen to.
