Van halen is undeniably one of the greatest guitarists in the history of rock. AC/DC are one of the most consistent bands to have ever existed (they have over fifteen platinum albums ffs) and def leppard are good to.


I agree that the genre "grunge" (or whatever it's called) isn't as good as the old 80's metal/hard rock but there's a couple of bands in that genre who are okay.

I still say the best rock was in the late seventies - late eighties. Most of my favourite bands/artists fall under that time line. There's a few exceptions but not a whole lot, maybe a dozen bands after the late eighties I consider on the same level as people like Van Halen, Guns n Roses, Metallica, RHCP etc
