Whats more important in pop: popularity in $$ or in number of fans? Those 300M americans may be small compared to China and India, but with the juggernaught that the US economy has become I would debate that to be a true international pop star u need the US$ (even if it is declining). And to give u an idea of the size of the US economy, it is the second largest economic block in the world, just behind the EU.
And the end of your comment, just awesome, pop is pop wherever its played, lol
