Eminem is undeniably one of the greatest lyricists hip hop has ever seen. His complex rhyme schemes, use of multiple syllable rhymes, assonance rhyming and various other techniques as well as his complex rhythms are close to perfect. His ability in lyricism easily surpasses someone like Biggie who was average at best.

Fair enough he sucks now but in his prime there is only about four other rappers in the entire history of hip hop who could keep up with him lyrically.

And outside of lyricism his delivery is again superior to the vast majority of rappers past or present. His flow is solid and his topic choice and ability to pull in his audience, capturing their imagination, their emotions, their mind and being able to make them relate to every single word is outstanding.

The way I am, Kim and Sing for the Moment > The combined careers of Biggie, Cube and Ren.
