I don't agree with Rush being more math music, but Big3 seems to have that opinion about prog in general.
His color terms I don't understand at all, what is black and green exactly? I do agree that diversity goes to moon, and I also think he used more "colors".
The best way to compare them is that Peart is like Michelangelo, a technical mastermind who took traditional methods and perfected them, Peart is more like Dali, he knows what the rules are but he chooses to break every one and be all over the place. I consider them so different and impossible to compare but they're each among the best at what they do, so I consider them equals.
As for preference, I enjoy Moon's drumming more. As far as technical drummers go I'm more of a Bruford fan.

This is not true at all, unless you mean in a rock n roll context and instead of "only" you meant to say "first", then I could see your point. There's a lot of drummers who put what they do at the forefront and go beyond just being part of the rhythm section, most prog bands play in a way that every member equally shines, The Who were one of the first rock bands that really did this, so they were a huge influence on prog, not so much because of their style but because of how they broke barriers on what a rock band could be and what a rock band could do.
